Chopard, Sydney
28.08.2016
Luxury Swiss jeweller and watchmaker, Chopard, has opened its flagship Australian store at 119 King Street, Sydney.
Located in Sydney’s CBD, between the city’s premier pedestrian mall and its financial district, 119 King Street is an existing infill building that has been substantially remodelled.
In a streetscape of contemporary and heritage buildings, Mathieson Architects has designed a new highly detailed façade that is dominated by a bronze framework with illuminated onyx stone panels, and large expanses of glass at ground and first floor levels.
Horizontal bronze sections reference adjacent ashlar details whilst the onyx is an interpretation of Sydney sandstone facades.
