ACT Architecture Awards 2019
15.06.2019
Mathieson Architects was awarded at the Australian Institute of Architects ACT Awards 2019 in the category Residential Architecture – Houses (New) for Red Hill House.
Jury Citation: “Red Hill House is resolute in form, consistent in scale, and refined in detailing. Wide expanses of meticulously detailed floor to ceiling glass allow light from and views to the manicured landscape to filter deep into the home.
The brief called for an extensive floor plate to house an extended large family, yet scale and proportion of Red Hill House avoids being imposing or ostentatious, instead creating a series of personal spaces each with a focus on garden living. The restrained crisp white palette of materials allows a neutral canvas from which to view the outside world.”
